■ The sake "Tsunomine" is the sacred sake served to the gods at Tsunomine Temple

At the peak of Tsunomine Mountain, one of the Awasanmine Mountains, there lies Tsunomine Temple dedicated to Kashiwa Himenomikoto. Back when there were no lights, the candlelights at this temple was used among the sailors to find their way home. The history of this temple is long, starting from year 724. The main temple is used to pray for the well being of the Awa people, but in the sub temple, the god of Sake, Ooyama Tsuminomikoto is worshipped.

Here at Tsunomine Sake Brewery, since its establishment in 1953, we have been brewing Tsunomine, the sacred sake served to the gods at Tsunomine Temple. With the phrase "The mountain Tsunomine, the sake Tsunomine" being with us for over half a century, we work on improving our brewing skills to show our respect and gratefulness to the people. However, because our brewery is so small, it became difficult for us to deliver to the sake stores throughout Japan, leaving our market only being Tokushima Prefecture. To expand our market, we decided to rely on the Internet, renewed our website with added features of webshop possibilities. So please take this chance to try our Tsunomine sake!
